New Year, Same Me

I have never really understood the point of New Years resolutions. I have always felt that if there is a change you need or want to make in your life, there is no time like the present. Why wait for a certain date?
If you want to get back in shape, start walking now or working out at home. There were some great deals on Black Friday for workout equipment. Don't wait until the gym is swamped with all the people that will only last a couple weeks.
If you want to start eating better, stop buying junk. You don't have to wait until January 1st to change your shopping habits. Do your research on healthy foods, and cancel any subscriptions for sugar, fat filled snacks. Start adjusting your portion sizes.
If you want to start gratitude journaling, stores sell them all year round. A great option is to find a printable on Pinterest or Etsy. My counselor actually suggested doing this to help me manage my anxiety. I love doing this!
If you want to build a better budget, there is no time like the present to start saving money. Especially with the current economy. A great resource for this is a budget planner. I got one from Walmart for pretty cheap. With so many automatic withdrawls, I sometimes forget that I have bills coming out. Another resource that was recommended to me by a financial advisor is the Ramsey Every Dollar app!
I have done all of these things throughout the year. I took the bull by the horns and took steps to better my life, one month at a time. I didn't wait. If you want to make a change, why wait?
